Will GTA 6 allow ‘rolear’ natively? Rockstar buys the creators of role-playing mods for GTA 5 and RDR2

Rockstar Games has announced that it integrates the Cfx.re team into the company, those responsible for the mod FiveM for Grand Theft Auto V and RedM for red dead redemption 2; are a set of tools that exponentially increase social interactions in both games and have allowed the creation of servers where participants play a role, something that has become very popular among players and viewers of platforms like Twitch.

Not even the developer of the saga Grand Theft Auto nor have Cfx.re specified how this will affect the future of Rockstar Games, though the studio says they will give more details in the “coming weeks and months”. For their part, Cfx.re confess to being “very excited about what this means for our users, community and creators.”

Of course, the creators of the tool point out: “For those curious about what other things Rockstar is working on, understand that our partnership with Rockstar Games is focused on our FiveM and RedM platforms. So please don’t ask us about the next gta!” They close their message by adding that “can’t wait to see what the future has to offer”.

It is not unreasonable to think of a Grand Theft Auto VI that, at least in its version for PC, includes these tools officially from day one. Today we have learned that the sixth numbered installment of gta has been in development since 2015although Rockstar did not confirm it until February 2022.

In a brief statement on the official blog, the studio says: “Today we are proud to announce that Cfx.re (the team behind Rockstar’s largest RPG and creator communities, FiveM and RedM), are from now officially part of Rockstar Games“.

“Over the past few years we have watched with excitement as the Rockstar’s creative community has found new ways to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and red dead redemption 2particularly through the creation of dedicated role servers,” the message continues.

The study explains that they have expanded their official standards around the mod to include those created by the community of role playand by partnering with the Cfx.re team, they will help them “find new ways to support this amazing community and improve the services they offer to their developers and players.”

The creators of FiveM say that the “day to day” of their work will not change

In the Cfx.re statement, the group says it is “incredibly excited” about the integration. “This is a Huge step forward for the growth of our communityand an opportunity for us to work with Rockstar Games to improve the FiveM platform and the creative community that surrounds it.” They also ensure that in day to day operations there will be no drastic changes.
