Xbox boss declares layoffs of Microsoft employees ‘painful’
Phil Spencer, boss of Xbox, sent an email last Friday to Microsoft employees related to the 10,000 layoffs that the company has suffered and that has affected development studios such as 343 Industries, in charge of the saga. The management team of Gaming had to make decisions that, in our opinion, set us up for the long-term success of our products and our business, but the individual results of those decisions are real. I know that hurts. Thank you for supporting our colleagues as they process these changes,” she added to his earlier comments. Spencer commented that she’s in close contact with ZeniMax teams to provide support to employees who have been affected by this drastic downsizing.

Xbox has a long history of success through the work you do in service to gamers, creators, and one another. Your work is highly appreciated and valued in these times of change and is an integral part of our business drive“.
