The chances of getting a new look at Fable are good.
We still have to wait a little more than a week until Microsoft and Bethesda give an outlook on the current and probably also the upcoming gaming year at their big summer showcase. There are a number of first-party studios working on new titles behind closed doors, and the hope is that we’ll see a few of them at the upcoming showcase.
And it actually looks like at least one of these titles will actually get an appearance. We’re talking about Fable, which is currently being developed at Playground Studios (Forza Horizon series) and which has pretty much disappeared into oblivion in recent months and years.
Tweet makes Fable reveal likely at showcase
What clues are there? Microsoft released a tweet to fuel anticipation of the June event. The video shows a trail of glitter leading to a monitor with the upcoming Games Showcase logo.

Two things/elements from the video are pretty definite clues to a Fable appearance:
- Music: This comes from the first Fable games and those who know the series will recognize the piece immediately.
- glitter: Obviously a nod to the Fable games’ waypoint system, which also uses glitter trails.
Accordingly, we would be extremely surprised if Fable were not shown at least briefly (i.e. with a new teaser or trailer) at the showcase.
Anyway, it’s about time: The title, which is supposed to reboot the Xbox-exclusive role-playing game series, was unveiled almost 3 years ago, and there have not been any more extensive information updates since then.

The big Xbox & Bethesda Showcase will take place on June 11 at 7 p.m German time instead. After the event, the upcoming SciFi RPG Starfield will also be presented in detail in a separate Direct.
