Zelda TotK: New Switch controller has a feature that EVERY controller should have
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom gets this fancy third party controller with a special function.
A number of accessories for the Switch have already been announced for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. But none quite like this third party controller from PDP here. What’s cooler than controllers that have translucent surfaces so you can see their inner workings? Very simple: A controller that can glow in the dark. That’s where the little boy in me comes through and I think all controllers need that.
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom gamepad glows in the dark and I really want it
What’s the matter? Third party manufacturer PDP is launching its own Zelda controller. It’s officially called the Nintendo Switch Sheikah Shoot Rematch Glow Controller and the name says it all: the good piece glows in the dark.
You also get two back paddles on the back, more grip than the Switch Pro controller and an additional jack connector for headphones directly on the controller. The volume can also be adjusted there. You don’t have to do without rumble or amiibo support, but the glow controller only costs $27.99.
With the new PDP controller in the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom look, I only ask myself one question and that is why there aren’t many more accessories that glow in the dark. If it was up to me, it would be nice to be offered again more often – just like the transparent surfaces.
You can get one here other side of the gamepad look at:
The Nintendo Switch Sheikah Shoot Rematch Glow Controller by PDP.
Biggest drop of bitterness: The PDP Rematch Glow Controller works exclusively with a wired connection. You can use it perfectly in the dark, but not if you want to sit too far away from your Nintendo Switch.
This is what it looks like in the dark: Here you can see the controller in the dark. The lines of the Sheikah Stone glow subtly and the outline of Link with the bow comes out well too. For my taste, however, it should shine a bit more.
This is what PDP’s Nintendo Switch Sheikah Shoot Rematch Glow controller looks like in the dark.
There are more TotK accessories: In addition to PDP, Hori, as a third-party manufacturer, is also bringing suitable switch accessories to the next Zelda on the (non-European) market. Nintendo itself isn’t stingy either, but a lot of things are already sold out:
That’s why all controllers need it: Because it’s just a grossly neglected feature and it’s pretty damn cool. And not only for all those who had glow-in-the-dark stickers on the ceiling or the like as children (or adults).
In addition, you should play in a darkened room anyway for a better visible picture. That would ensure that the good piece also comes into its own. Provided, of course, that you still had the light on beforehand.
How do you like the idea and the controller? Do you also wish for more accessories that glow in the dark?
