In times of live service games, free-2-play, etc., quite a few people want a classic gaming experience back. This is what the new 3D action-adventure platformer “Akimbot” from Evil Raptor offers, which at the same time wants to revive the feeling of the 2000s.
It's all about this: In Akimbot, players take on the role of Exe, an outlaw robot, and his unexpected friend Shipset. Together, they fight through robot armies, pilot spaceships and forge their own path on the mission to save the universe from impending doom.
Players will immerse themselves in a science fiction world where only robots exist as they travel through the galaxy, experiencing pure robot chaos and endless explosive action. Similarities or inspirations to Sony's Ratchet & Clank series are not excluded, if not intended.
Akimbot offers a classic gaming experience
Behind Evil Raptor is an independent French studio with a core team of eight people who focus on “classic” games, reviving the essence of 3D platformers of the early 2000s. The games released so far include “Pumpkin Jack”, which is now followed by “Akimbot” with even greater ambitions. In addition to a diverse and vibrant universe full of epic action and a wide variety of enemies, “Akimbot” offers a huge arsenal of weapons with which you can further refine your fighting style.
Exe and Shipset must cling to their circuits and prepare for an action-packed adventure as their journey through the universe begins later this year for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
