Konami reveals its own anime studio during event

This Saturday, Konami hosted a broadcast at Tokyo Dome to reveal its own anime studio. Titled Konami Animation, the department was the focus of a demonstrative showcase, where several clips highlighted the talents of the animation teams.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game: The Chronicles drew attention for bringing almost six minutes of content, highlighting the franchise's characters in different visual styles. According to the studio, the idea was to celebrate the franchise's 25 years of history, through a partnership with JCSTAFF and AtoriE.

Throughout the trailer, viewers can see visuals of memorable cards such as Black Mage, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Red-Eyes Black Dragon, and more. The event highlighted the work of more than 10 artists, including designers, animators and directors.

Konami Animation will not be limited to its IPs

The Konami Animation website is now live and provides more details about the studio's plans for the future. According to the department, the idea is not just to work on the publisher's own franchises, but to “evolve” the Japanese anime scene to a “new level”.

(We intend to) dynamically evolve the Japanese anime scene into a new levelconcentrating all our experiences, knowledge and cutting-edge technology cultivated in game development and applying them to anime production.

It is worth mentioning that Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game: The Chronicles and the materials presented in the video are merely a demonstration of the capabilities of the contributors. Therefore, it should not be treated as a raw material.
